Maggie Clay Menold is a native of Virginia and grew up outside of Washington, D.C. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in French and a minor in drama. Prior to coming to the Woo, Maggie worked for the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) with the Regional Tuberculosis, Malaria and HIV/STI programs. While at PAHO, she was coordinator of the USAID-PAHO Umbrella Grant Agreement which funded technical cooperation in maternal and child health, infectious diseases and health systems strengthening in Latin America and the Caribbean. In summer 2017 Maggie interned with Rise Up, a program of the Public Health Institute in Oakland, CA which advances health, education and equity for girls, youth, and women. As part of her internship, Maggie traveled to Malawi to provide technical assistance to Rise Up fellows and to support the ENGAGE initiative aiming to reduce child marriage in the country.
