Cleo Hirsch grew up in Hull Massachusetts, a small beach town south of Boston. She has a bachelors degree from Tufts University in political science and American studies. At Tufts she played varsity soccer and worked for a non-profit designing and implementing environmental education programs for local kids. After college she lived in New York City where she taught middle school social studies and earned a master’s degree in teaching. For her summer internship, Cleo was a Mayoral Fellow in Chicago where she worked on a variety of city initiatives including the push to expand pre-school enrollment and the Chicago Is With You task force created to protect and support undocumented immigrants. Cleo is particularly interested in policy areas relating to education, women and families.
